- The written exam has objective type multiple choice questions. And question paper will be bilingual English and Hindi.
- The questions paper carrying 100 questions.
- Each question carries 0.80 marks. So paper will be of total 80 marks.
- Exam time duration will be 01:30 hours (90 minutes).
- There shall be at least 10 questions relating to computer basic knowledge

Haryana Police Physical Standard
After the process of Written examination, the exam authority will organize the Physical Standard Test. And those candidates who will qualify in the written exam they are able for the PST test that will be conducted by the HSSC. Both tests are qualifying in nature, to judge their physical fitness and endurance.

Physical Screening Test (PST)
All candidates shall be put to a Physical Screening Test carrying a maximum of fifteen marks to judge their physical fitness and endurance. The qualifying standards prescribed for this test shall be following.

General Studies: History of India (Haryana mostly) & its Adjacent Countries, Culture, Geography, Economical Scenario and Constitution of India & State Administration, Political series of Country, Five-Year Plan, Contribution of Haryana in National Movement.
Reasoning: analogies, similarities and differences, problem-solving, relationship, arithmetical computation, and other analytical functions, Venn diagrams, relationship concepts and Ability to observe and distinguish patterns, etc.
Current Affairs: Indian Current Events, General Science, General Knowledge, Current affairs of National & International news, Important dates, Current Science, Technology, Sports & Culture.
Numerical Ability: Arithmetical and Numerical abilities, Simplification, Decimals, Fractions, L.C.M., H.C.F., Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Average, Profit & Loss, Discount, Simple & Compound Interest, Mensuration, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Tables & Graphs, etc.
General Science: Scientific methodology concepts, principles, techniques and physics, chemistry, life sciences (Biology), the earth/space sciences, technologies, etc
Scrutiny of Documents (Documentation)
Candidates who will qualify in the Physical Screening Test need to go for documentation. The Documentation process will be as follows:-
- For Constable:-
Education – Maximum 07 Marks (Graduate degree in any stream from a recognized University shall get four (04) marks) and Post Graduate degree in any stream from a recognized University shall get additional three (03) marks).
- For Sub-Inspector:-
Education Maximum 07 Marks (04 Marks for the candidate with higher education i.e. a Graduation degree in Law, Computer Engineering/Science, Forensic Medicine, Forensic Science, Police Science and Criminology (which take 04 or more years after 10+2 to get a specialized degree) issued from a recognized university and additional three (03) marks for a post Graduate degree in any of the aforementioned streams issued from a recognized university.
Candidates with a Post Graduate degree in any stream other than the ones mentioned above shall get no extra marks. However, the candidates having a degree over and above their Post-graduation e.g. M.Phil or Ph.D. in streams other than the ones mentioned above will get an additional three (03) marks
- NCC Certificate
Maximum 03 Marks: Candidate having NCC certificate of A, B or C, level shall get 01, 02 and 03 marks respectively.
Haryana Cadet Corps (HCC) Certificate (maximum 03 marks): Candidate having HCC certificate of A or B level shall get 01 and 03 marks respectively.
Candidates who qualify the Physical Screening Test shall be called for the interview-cum-personality test by their score of the above exams, up to a maximum three times.
